Central health team visits Gurugram, reviews Covid-19 arrangements

Gurugram, Nov 25 (IANS) A three-member team of the central government comprising Dr. Randeep Guleria of AIIMS, Delhi visited Gurugram on Tuesday to take stock of the arrangements made by the district administration to deal with the Covid-19 situation in Gurugram.

The team was headed by Guleria. The team also got information about the health facilities being provided to Covid-19 infected patients in the city and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made here. The team emphasised to make people aware of Covid Protocol.

Civil surgeon Dr. Virendra Yadav gave detailed information about the arrangements made to control the corona infection in the district and told that the test of Covid-19 in the district is being done most across the district.

Yadav informed the team that there are three lakh tests per million in the district. In addition, area-wise camps are being organised to identify corona infected patients. So far 1,650 camps have been set up.

He informed that for the convenience of the people, two RT-PCR testing machines are installed in the civil hospital. Apart from these, the government has authorised nine private testing labs which do the testing at the fees fixed by the government.

The Civil Surgeon said that the patients are constantly monitored by the Health Department team so that they do not have any health related problems and they can get timely health facilities.

“Special attention is being paid to the Containment Zone including their contact tracing, hospitalisation status, human resource and availability of beds in hospitals. Teams are also working to ensure compliance of the Covid-19 protocol in congested areas and in the Containment Zone,” Yadav informed.

Availability of beds in hospitals for severely corona infected patients is being ensured. He informed that 50 per cent of the total availability has been reserved for Covid patients in various hospitals and 75 per cent of the beds with ICU and ventilator facilities have been asked to be kept for the patients.

Yadav also informed that the rate of corona testing in the district has been reduced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,250. In addition, RT-PCR testing rates of Rs 900, Rapid Antigen Test Rs 500, IgG based ELISA test Rs 250 and CBNAT test Rs 2,400 have been fixed. Besides, the Health departments are monitoring all testing labs to provide testing facilities to the people at the prescribed rates.
