The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on Tuesday banned 43 Chinese mobile applications that were reportedly engaged in activities prejudicial to India’s sovereignty and integrity.
The ministry issued the order to blocking access to these apps by users in India based on reports received from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
“This action was taken based on the inputs regarding these apps for engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order,” read the official statement.

Earlier in June, the government had blocked access to 59 mobile apps and 118 more apps were blocked in September.
