On July 22, the Rs 978 crore Chandrayaan-2 was launched into space by India’s heavy lift rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mark III (GSLV Mk III).

The spacecraft comprises three segments – the Orbiter (weighing 2,379 kg, eight payloads), the lander ‘Vikram’ (1,471 kg, four payloads) and rover ‘Pragyan’ (27 kg, two payloads).

National Geographic on Tuesday announced that it is all set to take its viewers on a once in a lifetime expedition to witness a historic event in the country’s space endeavours, the Chandrayaan-2 landing on September 7 at 1.30 a.m.-2.30 a.m. There are a few ways by which you can observe Indian making history in astronomical science.

The live streaming of Chandryaan 2 can be viewed on ISRO’s YouTube channel at 1.10 am IST on 7 September. Enthusiasts could also follow the landing on DD National’s YouTube channel.

Nat Geo Chandrayaan 2 Live special starring NASA astronaut Jerry Linenger will go live on Nat Geo/Hotstar. The special show begins at 11.30 pm IST.

“With Chandrayaan-2 mission, India will not only gain the knowledge but it will be helping the humankind to go forward,” Linenger had said to IANS.
