Chennai police arrested a 24-year-old girl for murdering her classmate’s 59-year old father who used to demand sexual favours and was blackmailing her.
According to the reports, the deceased man, Sekar of Thiruvottiyur, had sexually assaulted the 24-year-old woman, a friend of his daughter, more than four-and-a-half years ago and continued to exploit her. Sekar started blackmailing the woman after he got to know that she was getting married. When he began to blackmail her actively, she planned to end it for good by killing him.
“Therefore, the accused decided to eliminate Sekar. She asked him to meet her at a private place on Monday night. At her request, Sekar visited the AAS Road in New Washermanpet,” said the police officer.
The accused poured an adhesive in Sekar’s eyes and mouth on the pretext of giving him a surprise and then stabbed him in the neck, added the police officer.
On Monday night, the police control room was alerted about a man found dead with his throat slit on Cross Road in Washermenpet.
After inquiries revealed that Sekar had last been seen with the woman in the same locality, police detained the woman and questioned her when she narrated her ordeal. Her family members knew about her problem, but remained silent as Sekar provided them financial support.
