Cheques No Longer Accepted: Due to issues with dishonoured checks, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has decided to discontinue property tax payments by cheque starting July 1.

Payments of property tax through this medium will be discontinued from July due to legal issues arising from dishonoured cheques.

What is the process for paying MCD property taxes online?

As of next month, property taxes will have to be paid digitally via UPI, wallets, demand drafts, pay orders, or any online payment gateway.

Owners and occupiers of property can pay taxes online at www.mcdonline.nic.in.

Additionally, MCD urged property owners and occupiers of vacant land and buildings to pay tax for the year 2024-25 and get a 10 percent rebate on lump sum payments before June 30.

All buildings and vacant land falling under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi are subject to property tax under section 114 of the Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 2003.
