A viral video on social media has brought major embarrassment to the Chhattisgarh police as three constables were recently caught on camera assaulting and molesting a minor.

Going by the reports, the incident happened on August 9 at Sarona railway station located on Raipur’s outskirt. In a video that first came to light late on Tuesday night, a young boy reportedly a pickpocket, seemingly carrying a plastic bag in his hand, could be seen being manhandled by three police constables, one of them even in uniform.

As the reports claimed, the child in the video could be heard screaming while the trio was pulling his hair, twisting his ears and laughing loudly. Adding to the disgust, they allegedly touched his private parts too.

The video is believed to have been made by a passenger of a train when it halted at the railway station.

As quoted by The Indian Express, a senior police officials said that “preliminary investigation reveals that two young boys were “chased” out of a train by a far unidentified man who was accusing them of stealing a mobile phone. While one of the boys ran away, the three policemen who were nearby caught hold of this child. We are now tracing the child, and will try and get a statement registered,”

After the video went viral on social media, the accused constables Anil Rajput, Mukesh Thakur and Krishna Rajput, posted at Kabir Nagar, Saraswati Nagar and Amanaka police stations, were suspended on immediate effect.
