Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday announced extension of the lockdown in the state till May 29, irrespective of the nation-wide lockdown announced by the Centre till May 17.

“The situation in the State capital, Hyderabad, and its neighbouring districts, Rangareddy and Malkajigiri-Medchal district is very serious and there is no way we can take any chances,” the Chief Minister said, after a marathon Cabinet meeting at Pragathi Bhavan.

Tenth class exams in Telangana to be held in May: KCR

Telangana government will approach the High Court seeking permission to hold the remaining tenth class examinations, the state cabinet has decided on Tuesday.

Briefing the newsmen after the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said the government would conduct the examinations in May scrupulously following the directives to be given by the High Court in this matter.
