Coal India, SCCL workers call for nation-wide strike on September 24

It is estimated that Coal India, the near-monopoly miner of the solid fuel, may lose up to Rs 130 crore a day due to industrial action.

Coal India, SCCL workers call for nation-wide strike on September 24

Workers of Coal India (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Company (SCCL) have called for a one-day nationwide strike  on September 24 against arbitratory decision taken by Government of India on August 28 that allows 100 per cent Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in coal sector.

Union Federations says that it is totally against the coal workers right and also harmful for the coal sectors to survive.

Five unions working together have refused to hold further discussions with the government before October.

It is estimated that Coal India, the near-monopoly miner of the solid fuel, may lose up to Rs 130 crore a day due to industrial action.
