Coleman fighting for reputation after missing 3 drug tests: Reports

New York, Aug 22 (IANS) He has been the world’s fastest man for the last three years, but Christian Coleman is now fighting for his reputation after allegedly missing a series of drugs tests.

According to a Sportsmail source-based report, the 23-year-old American sprinter, tipped as the successor to Usain Bolt, is disputing one of the three whereabouts failures in the last 12 months.

Coleman could face a lengthy ban if he is unsuccessful in having one of the three strikes cancelled, a report published on www.dailymail.co.uk said.

This could rule him out of next month’s World Championships in Qatar and more importantly next year’s Olympics in Tokyo.

According to the United States Anti-Doping Agency website, ‘any cumulation of three Missed Tests or Filing Failures in a 12-month period can result in a potential ADRV and a period of ineligibility of up to two years for a first violation’.

Coleman is the favourite to win gold in Qatar and Tokyo next year.
