Next Prime Minister cannot be predicted: Baba Ramdev

Patanjali founder and controversial yoga guru Baba Ramdev wants to get special honour for ‘never getting married’ and said that the voting rights of people who have married and given birth to more than two children should be ceased.

“Is desh mein jo hamari tarah se vivah na kare unka vishesh samman hona chahiye, aur vivah kare, to 2 se jyada santaan paida kare to uski voting right nahi honi chahiye (In this country, those, who, like me, do not marry, should be honoured, and those who marry and have more than two children; their voting rights should be taken away)”, he said, while addressing a gathering at Patanjali Yogpeeth.

However, this not the first time the 52-year-old guru credited himself for staying unmarried. Earlier, yoga guru had compared his bachelorhood for a successful and happy life. “People work for their family. Na biwi na bacche phir bhi dekho kitne acche (There is no wife, no children, and see how comfortable we still are),” said Baba Ramdev.

Nevertheless, several BJP leaders have called for Hindu women to produce more four or more children to respond to the alleged growth in the population of Muslims.

“The concept of four wives and 40 children will not work in India and the time has come when a Hindu woman must produce at least four children in order to protect Hindu religion,” said BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj.

Another BJP lawmaker, Surendra Singh, has also asked Hindu women to produce five children. Speaking in July this year, BJP MLA from Balia had said, “Hindus should have at least five children. Two for the man, two for the woman and one surplus. All Hindu spiritual leaders want this to happen.”
