Coronavirus: Gurugram teen shows COVID19 symptoms, after sister being tested positive

The 16-year-old boy has been quarantined here after he was suspected to have coronavirus infection, the Union Health Ministry said. His blood samples have been sent to the Pune-based National Institute of Virology.

Gurugram: A teenage boy has started showing symptoms of coronavirus after his sister tested positive for coronavirus a few days ago, is likely to have contracted the infection from her. She is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Gurugram.

According to the news agency, he is the resident of Gurugram’s Palam Vihar area and is the fifth person of the region who have symptoms of COVID-19.

The 16-year-old boy has been quarantined here after he was suspected to have coronavirus infection, the Union Health Ministry said. His blood samples have been sent to the Pune-based National Institute of Virology.

On Wednesday, the Gurugram administration ordered the closure of all shopping malls in the area in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus. In his order, the District Commissioner of Gurugram stated that pharmacies, grocery stores and supermarkets located inside malls will be open.

In view of rising coronavirus cases in the country, the administration has also imposed a restriction on a public gathering of over 50 persons. The restriction order bars all types of mass gatherings, including weddings in the area.
