Coronavirus: CBSE advises board examinees to wear face masks, follow social distancing at exam centres

The similar steps have been also taken by Council for the Indian Certification Examinations (CISCE) who has taken similar measures at its examination centres in view of the COVID19 outbreak

Coronavirus is a paramount problem in today’s time. CBSE advises its students to maintain social distance in examination rooms, use face masks during invigilation duties and provide separate rooms to students who are coughing and sneezing, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has provided a new set of guidelines to ensure that students remain safe when they write their exams.

The similar steps have been also taken by Council for the Indian Certification Examinations (CISCE) who has taken similar measures at its examination centres in view of the COVID19 outbreak.

A total of 130 coronavirus positive cases have been reported from across the country and three persons have died of the infection.

CBSE, on Monday, has issued a new set of guidelines to all centres on Monday, the said only seven board examinations that pertain to subjects with more than one lakh students were left.

Various superintendents of CBSE have issued new sets of guidelines to be followed at centres for board examinations that are to be conducted on March 18, 20, 21, 23 and 24.

The board has even advised the examination centres to use libraries, laboratories and auditoriums in case they do not have enough classroom to maintain social distancing. Around 31 lakh students have been sitting to write CBSE class 10 and 12 board exams this year in India and abroad.

A lot of exam centres have started “social distancing” among its students during the class 12 Mathematics exam on Tuesday.

Jyoti Arora, principal of Mount Abu School in Rohini, said they divided the students into smaller groups. “Generally we have 24 students in one examination room in each CBSE centre. But to ensure social distancing, we made 12 students sit in each room instead,” she said
