Noted Urdu poet Rahat Indori, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, died due to the viral infection in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore on Tuesday.

62,064 new coronavirus cases were reported in India, taking the country’s Covid tally to 22,15,075, health ministry said. India reported 1,007 new deaths in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 44,386.

The World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Monday that “green shoots of hope” are emerging at this point in the pandemic and added that all countries should remember it is never too late to turn the Covid-19 outbreak around.”… I want to be clear, there are green shoots of hope and no matter where a country, a region, a city or a town is – it’s never too late to turn the outbreak around,” Tedros said. Meanwhile, India has reported more confirmed new cases than the United States and Brazil for seven consecutive days.

India’s COVID-19 recoveries have reached a “historic peak” with the recovery of 15,35,743 patients that was possible because of the policy of “testing aggressively, tracking comprehensively and treating efficiently”, the Health Ministry said in a statement.

Russia has developed first coronavirus vaccine, announces Vladimir Putin

276 New COVID-19 Cases Take Puducherry's Total Count To 5,900

Two more people have died due to COVID-19 in Puducherry while the Union Territory has resported 276 fresh cases today, taking the total count to 5,900. Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao told a virtual press conference that while one patient aged 44 died at Indira Gandhi Government Medical college (IGGMC) hospital here, the other aged 69 passed away at a private hospital in the last 24 hours. Both the patients had co-morbidities. With the two deaths, the death count rose to 91. Of the new cases, Puducherry registered 241 cases, followed by 30 cases in Karaikal and five in the Yanam region.

PM Modi to hold video conference with CMs of worst-affected states

As per sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold a video conference with the Chief Ministers of the worst-affected states.

The meeting will be held with CMs of West Bengal, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Gujarat. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will join the meeting at 1 pm.

India registers 53,601 new coronavirus cases, total tally over 22.68 lakh

India has reported a spike of 53,601 cases and 871 new deaths in the past 24 hours. The coronavirus caseload in India has now climbed to 22,68,676 including 6,39,929 active cases, 15,83,490 cured/discharged/migrated and 45,257 deaths, according to the Ministry of Health.

India on Tuesday reported over 53,000 cases in a single day, taking the total caseload registered so far above 22.68 lakh. According to fresh data on the health ministry’s website, India currently has 6,39,929 active cases as of Tuesday.

Renowned poet Rahat Indori tests positive for Coronavirus

The renowned poet from Indore Rahat Indori has tested positive for coronavirus. He was admitted to Covid Arvindo Hospital last night. His son Satlaj said that he is stable.

On Tuesday, he himself gave this information via Twitter, saying that my corona test was conducted yesterday when the symptoms of Covid-19 appeared, which has been reported positive.
