Section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed in four districts in Jammu and Kashmir, namely Budgam, Shopian, Kishtwar and Ramban. This has been done to curb the spread of novel coronavirus after the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir reported one positive case of Covid-19 earlier this month.

A fourth positive case of novel coronavirus has been reported from Rajasthan. Officials have confirmed that the patient in question is a 24-year-old individual from Jaipur who returned to the city on March 14 via an Air India flight from Delhi. The patient travelled from Madrid in Spain to New Delhi before this. Those who were on the same flights as him are also being contacted by authorities.

Google India confirms that an employee at their Bengaluru office has been tested positive for coronavirus. Google India has said in a statement that the employee was at the Bengaluru office for a few hours before showing symptoms.

Earlier on Thursday, Karnataka reported the first coronavirus death in India with the passing of a 76-year-old man who had returned from Saudi Arabia.

Two employees of tech giants Mindtree and Dell also tested positive for coronavirus in India.

Coronavirus has entrenched and made its way to many places in the country. The Union govt has been trying its best to curb the disease at its root by screening people from outside India and running safety measures within the country.
