Coronavirus outbreak: 35-yr-old man who was put under isolation commits suicide in Chhattisgarh

A 35-yr-old man from Tagapani, Dhamtari, who was put under isolation home by the health dept after his return from Tamil Nadu, commits suicide.

He had no symptoms relating to Coronavirus. Police says, “Reason for suicide unknown. A year ago, he lost his wife & son.”

The number of positive coronavirus cases in India crossed 1,200 on Monday as the global death toll due to deadly virus crossed 37,000.

While the confirmed cases in India stand at 1251, the number of deaths recorded is 32, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Monday. Out of these, 1117 are active cases while 101 have been discouraged after treatment.

With 223 cases, Maharashtra is the most affected state in the country, followed by Kerala with 221.

India has imposed a 21-day lockdown till April 14 to combat the spread of novel coronavirus. While initially, only the supplies of essential goods were allowed during the lockdown period, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday said transportation of all goods, without distinction of essential and non-essential, have been allowed.
