Kalpetta: A young man attacked a police inspector who questioned him for violating the rules of home quarantine. The man was later put on remand by the police.

The man was identified as Shihabudheen (30), a native of Pilakkal at Muttil in Wayanad district.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening when the police were dispersing the people who gathered around and were violating the rules of lockdown in the nation. The crowd gathered at Kunjunnippadi in Muttil violating lockdown. Shihabudheen picked up a quarrel with police officers led by SI Abbas Ali who was dispersing those who had violated lockdown.

While the others ran away from the spot, Shihabudheen refused to leave. When officials tried to take him into the police vehicle, Shihabudheen bit the SI’s arm. He also attacked other police officers.
