More importantly, it reduces the number of cases during the peak of the pandemic.

The exact meaning of the flattening of the curve is the society coming all together to fight with the forces of a pandemic by staying inside their houses and to implement social distancing so that they can avoid the infection and this is how the case will reduce and thus the curve which is about the rising cases of COVID19 will reduce and it will lead to flattening of the curve.
