COVID-19: Himachal students of classes 1-9 and 11 to be promoted without result announcement

After a detailed discussion with Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj and officials of the Education Department, Chief Minister Jairam Thakur approved the proposal to promote the students without announcing examination results.

In the view of nationwide lockdown amid coronavirus pandemic, the Himachal Pradesh government directed the state’s Education Department to promote the students of Classes 1-9 and Class 11 without the announcement of the exam results on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.

After a detailed discussion with Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj and officials of the Education Department, Chief Minister Jairam Thakur approved the proposal to promote the students without announcing examination results.

Till now, 4,789 people have been recorded coronavirus positive and 124 people have died across the country, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Moreover, BSEH will announce the result of class 10th on the basis of exams that have been conducted. The board class 10 exam was slated to be conducted till March 17 and was postponed in the view of lockdown amid coronavirus outbreak.

Besides this, Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department have also declared the mass promotion of students from classes 1 to 9 and 11 in Summer and in Biannual/Private exam Winter Zones.

The order was issued on Tuesday, April 7 by Deputy Secretary School Education Department, Sachin Jamwal.
