Coronavirus lockdown 3.0: The coronavirus lockdown has been extended till May 17, 2020, in the wake of coronavirus pandemic to contain the spread. The nationwide lockdown was set to end on May 3, 2020, however, as per the decision taken by the MHA, the lockdown has been extended till May 17, 2020.

Due to this, schools, colleges, institutes, coaching centers across the country will again remain close till May 17, 2020.

Board examinations are further delayed which will lead to the further postponement of results.

Impact on education and entrance exams:

And for CBSE Class 12 board exams, exams of only 12 major subjects would be carried out after the lockdown which would be required for college admissions. But now, the question arises that when will the board conduct the remaining papers.

Now, due to the postponement and further delay of the remaining board exams, this will also have an impact on the evaluation process of the answer sheets. The decision has affected not only the CBSE but also the examinations of other states.

CBSE secretary Anurag Tripathi said that all pending CBSE Class 10 board exams have been cancelled.

For the CBSE Level 12 Board Exam, the examination of the 12 major subjects is only required after the university is locked. But now a question arises that when the board will process the remaining documents.

He also mentioned that the evaluation process takes about 1 to 2 months. We expect further delays due to extension.

Recently, the UGC issued its guidelines, which mentioned that the colleges will open from August. Intermediate semester students will be graded based on their internal assessments for the current and previous semesters. However, the exam will only take place in that state where Covid-19 has been normalised in July. Terminal Semester Students will have their exams in July.

For exams and jobs which were slated till May third week will be delayed in the wake of the Coronavirus lockdown. A fresh announcement is expected to be made soon for the exams scheduled after the lockdown.

Due to the lockdown, the exam conducting agencies and organisations are also expected to declare the further extension of registration processes or the postponement of the exams. NEET, JEE Main has been postponed due to the same.
