Crime is on the rise in Bihar, Nitish govt appears helpless

Nalanda: Incidents of crime and murders are on the rise in the state as in Nalanda district on Thursday night a person identified as Chunchun Mahto is killed by unidentified criminals leaving one more injured. The incident took place in the Laheri police station area.

Around 10 PM at night this incident took place when the deceased was coming back to his house and was gunned down by unidentified criminals. The deceased Chunchun is said to be the resident of nearby Amber colony. Relatives of the deceased have accused the old family rivalry behind the killing of Mahto.

Police were informed and Laheri Station House Officer (SHO) Birendra Prasad Yadav immediately reached the spot. He said that police is investigating the matter and yet to establish the reason behind the murder. Yadav also added that police is also examining the CCTV footage in and around the crime scene area and assured that criminals will be behind the bars very soon.
