CSR violations to be treated as civil offence: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Nirmala Sitharaman proposes to reduce corporate tax for manufacturing sector

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today, August 23, decriminalised Corporate Social Responsibility violations, saying that cases will be treated as a civil offence.

“Our moves have benefited have MSMEs and homebuyers. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) violations will not be treated as criminal offence but as a civil offence,” the FM said.
