A Danish shotputter-turned-politician has taken a unique root to reach out to voters. Joachim B Olsen, who is standing in the country’s upcoming general elections took out an ad that said “vote for Jokke” on Pornhub – a pornographic video sharing website, according to CNN.
Jokke is a nickname for Joachim. The politician in a Facebook post confirmed that he did take out the advertisement. “Yes, it’s me on Pornhub,” he said, according to the media website.
“Half of the internet is porn. And you have to be where the voters are. Also on a porn site,” Joachim B Olsen, a center-right Liberal Alliance party MP told the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) in a Sunday interview, according to CNN. While talking to DR, Olsen further said that while his campaign is “95 percent serious,” there was room for a “fun feature.”
According to CNN Pornhub receives 100 million daily visits. It ranks 27 across the globe according to the and Denmark is the website’s 28th highest source of traffic.
Olsen told the DR that the advertisement is a “fun feature” in his “95 percent serious” campaign, reports CNN.
Danish voters will head to the polls on June 5.
