DCP Madhur Verma allegedly slaps Traffic cop for waving down his car

A Traffic policeman filed a complaint against Delhi top cop Madhur Verma accusing him of assaulting and misbehaving with him while on duty at the Tughlak Road police station on Sunday night.

The 56-year-old filed a complaint with the Delhi Police Commissioner’s office, alleging that he was slapped by IPS officer Madhur Verma because he stopped his private vehicle, being driven by a constable on the wrong side.

In a complaint, Karamveer said a car approached the Khan Market Circle from the wrong side. When he intercepted the errant vehicle and questioned the driver, an argument broke out between Karamveer and the two persons riding the car.”When I threatened to challan them, one of the two replied that he was the DCP’s operator. Later, DCP Madhur Verma abused and slapped me,” Karamveer alleged in his complaint.

However, Verma on Tuesday rubbished the allegation that he slapped an inspector as false, saying the latter levelled the charge against him to shield himself from action after he misbehaved with two persons, including a policeman, while on duty.

Verma alleged that Karamveer was reprimanded on Sunday for misbehaving with a person riding a Puducherry vehicle while he was on duty at the Khan Market Circle.
