Smog resulting from raging farm fires and unfavourable weather conditions led to the air quality in the national capital dip to a ‘severe’ category on November 13. This prompted authorities to order closure of schools till November 15 (Friday).

Manish Sisodia said that the government has decided to shut all the government schools and private schools in the national capital tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

Manish Sisodia took to Twitter and wrote, “In view of the deteriorating situation due to stubble pollution in North India, the Delhi government has decided to close all the government and private schools of Delhi for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.”

The Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) also extended the restrictions on dirty-fuel based industries in Delhi-NCR, hot mix plants and stone crushers till the morning of November 15, as the meteorological department said strong winds are expected from November 15, which will bring down the air pollution levels to the very poor category.
