Delhi air quality improves from ‘severe’ to ‘poor’; overall AQI shows 276

After suffering from heavy pollution over last week, air qualitty slightly improved in national capital as the overall AQI stood at 276 at 8:30 AM.

Delhi and NCR witnessed a comparatively cleaner sky on Wednesday morning with the air quality improving from the ‘severe’ mark to the ‘very poor’ category. After suffering from heavy pollution over last week, things are looking up for national capital as the overall AQI stood at 276 at 8:30 AM.

Going by the reports of leading daily, major pollutants PM 2.5 was recorded at 238 and PM 10 at 141 in Lodhi road area at 8:32 am. The air quality around India gate area also remained in ‘Unhealthy’ category this morning.

However, the air quality at certain places remained in ‘severe’ or ‘very poor’ category. AQI recorded at about 9:45 AM in various parts of Delhi-NCR is as follows:

Anand Vihar, Delhi: 188
Lodhi Road, Delhi: 159
Sector 62, Noida: 201
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi: 177
NISE, Gurugram: 162
Sector 125, Noida: 194

The air quality remained in poor category in other cities like Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru as well. The overall AQI in Kolkata was 267 with major pollutants PM 2.5 and PM 10 at 218 and 350 respectively. In Howrah, the overall AQI was 297 with PM 2.5 and PM 10 at 248 and 392, respectively.
