Delhi: Bird Flu samples return positive from the dead crows near Red Fort, monument closes till January 26

Bird flu has reached to the 10 states in the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Many zoos have also been closed due to bird flu. The country’s capital Delhi is also not insulated from this flu. People have now been banned from entering the Red Fort after the crow was found dead on the premises of the monument. Test have confirmed that the dead crow was suffering from bird flu.

Rakesh Singh, director of the Delhi government’s animal husbandry department said, “Entry of public into monument has been restricted till January 26 as a precautionary measure,”.

On Saturday, a Delhi zoo also had confirmed the deadly flu as the test for the dead owl turned positive. The Delhi government had banned the sale of processed and packed chicken coming from outside the city in the wake of bird flu and ordered the closure of Ghazipur Murga Mandi in East Delhi.

However, the mandi was reopened after the test report of all the 100 samples taken from Ghazipur on Thursday came negative.
