An unemployed man has allegedly killed his six-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter at their residence in northwest Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh on Sunday. Madhur Malaani (44), the accused, jumped to his death in front of a metro train at Haiderpur Badli Mor station.

The cops said, prima facie, it appeared that the man was depressed.

According to TOI, the Police states, they got a call around 7 pm on Sunday from the mother of the kids, informing them about the murders. The deceased were identified as Siransh and Sumiksha.

Malaani’s wife, Rupali, told the cops that she had left home around 3.30 pm for some work.

“Both the children were alone with their father,” she said.

When Rupali returned from work, she found the house locked. After knocking on the door and receiving no response, she asked the house owner to provide her with spare keys and opened the door.

Rupali suspects that her husband might be behind in killing their kids.

The cops then formed a team to identify the accused. They received information that Malaani was seen moving towards Haiderpur station.

“We have registered a case of murder and investigations are going on at present,” said DCP (northwest) Vijayanta Arya.

Around 6 pm, Malaani jumped in front of a metro train at Haiderpur Badli Mor station on the Yellow Line. A probe reveals that the accused was under severe depression and had not gotten a job for months.
