Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal shares inter-faith video with deep message on Twitter

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday shared a strong message on Twitter through an old video. In the 50s video, various noted Indian personalities can be heard saying ‘Main Hindustani Hun’ (I am India).

The video starts with the Tabla Maestro Zakira Hussain saying “Breath has no religion, Music has no religion, then what is the religion of tears?” The video then continues with Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Tabu, Juhi Chawla, Raveena Tandon, and others.

Recently, the jewellery brand Tanishq has released an inter-faith video which sparked controversy. #BoycottTanishq was trending on social media, with various sections of the society calling it out for ‘promoting Love Jihad’.

Following the uproar on social media, the jewellery brand withdrew the advertisement “keeping in mind the hurt sentiments and well-being of our employees, partners and store staff”.

Reacting on the issue, Congress MP Shahi Tharoor had tweeted, “So Hindutva bigots have called for a boycott of @TanishqJewelry for highlighting Hindu-Muslim unity through this beautiful ad. If Hindu-Muslim ‘ekatvam’ irks them so much, why don’t they boycott the longest surviving symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity in the world — India?”
