Delhi: JNU student drugged and raped by cab driver

On Friday night, a JNU second-year student was allegedly drugged and raped by a cab driver while she was returning from her friend’s house.

The woman who is 21-years-old told the police that she had taken the cab from the Mandir Marg area and the cab driver drove for around three hours after raping her.

The victim was found in a semi-conscious state near a park in South Delhi by some locals who got her admitted to a hospital where doctors confirmed a sexual assault. She was discharged from the hospital and then managed to reach her hostel and narrate the incident to the authorities.

The woman in her statement said that the cab driver had offered her something due to which she fell unconscious. Post which, he had raped her in the cab.

Based on the description told by the girl, the police are trying to track the cab. The woman who hails from western UP is pursuing a foreign language course in JNU.
