In a shocking incident, a Madrasa teacher was beaten to death by at least two hawkers after a heated argument broke out over the price of a pair of headphones. The incident reportedly happened in north Delhi’s Kotwali area on Monday, following which the Delhi police arrested two men and efforts to identify others are being made.

Going by the reports, the mob thrashed the victim identified as Mohammed Ovaish for nearly half-hour until he fell unconscious.

The tiff started when Ovaish – a Massrasa teacher in Noida – came to Delhi on the weekend and was scheduled to board a train back to Shamli from Old Delhi Railway station on Monday night. On Monday, Ovaish reached Chandni Chowk around 10 PM and stopped at a shop to check out some headphone sets. When he asked the price for the product, the owner quoted a higher range. Shoing discontent to thequoted price, Ovaish denied to but the headphones and started to leave.

On this, the shopkeeper got irked and tried to force him to buy the headphone claiming that he had tried it on. When Ovaish protested, the shopkeeper called his friends and in no time, about 8-10 people surrounded and attacked Ovaish.

His body was sent for a post mortem examination and was later handed over to his family members for last rites.
