Since three days, North-East Delhi has been burning in violence and in lieu of that, the authorities in Noida have imposed Section 144 of CrPC barring assembly of four or more people in an area.

Security forces in the region have been put on high alert to maintain law and order. The Police Armed Constabulary (PAC) has also been deployed in huge numbers.

In the wake of arson and tension in Delhi, the District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar, BN Singh, has also issued a directive to close all liquor shops adjacent to Delhi.

All the liquor shops in the adjoining areas up to three kilometres of Delhi will remain closed today.

For the uninitiated, at least 20 people have died after violence erupted between anti-Citizenship Amendment Act supporters and protesters in the northeast district of the national capital. The number of people injured due to violence has crossed 200.

Incidents of violence were reported from the areas of Maujpur, Kardam Puri, Gokulpuri, and Dayalpur. The tyre market at Kapur Petrol Pump in Gokulpuri was set on fire at around 9 pm on Saturday. The rioters also set fire to a petrol pump in the Bhajan Pura area.

Also, National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval has been given the charge to bring the violence under control, government sources have said. Doval visited the affected areas including Jaffarabad, Seelampur, and other parts of North-East Delhi on Tuesday night and held talks with leaders of different communities.
