Diwali 2020: Festival season has arrived. Dhanteras, Diwali, Bhaiyya dooj are the major purchases of sweets. Many people bring mawa or khoya home and make different kinds of sweets in it. But have you ever brought Mawa from the market and checked its quality. Mawa or khoya purchased from the market can also be fake. Adulterated things are sold a lot in market on festivals.

If you want to identify the difference between genuine and fake mawa, then before buying, check the quality in 6 ways:

1. Rub the piece of khoya for a while on the thumb of the hand. If the smell of ghee present in it remains on the thumb for a long time, then understand that the mawa is pure.

2. Make a tablet of mawa on the palm and keep it moving between the two palms for a long time. If these bullets start exploding, then understand that the mawa is fake or adulterated.

3. 3. Put about 3 grams of khoya in 5 ml of hot water. After cooling for a while, add iodine solution to it. After this you will see that the color of fake khoya will gradually start turning blue.

4. If you want, you can also test for real and fake by eating mawa. If the mawa is feeling sticky then understand that it has spoiled. It will taste like raw milk on eating real mawa.

5. If it is broken into small pieces by adding mawa in water, then it is a sign of its deterioration. Avoid buying mawa more than two days old. Eating this can spoil your health.

6. Instead of raw mawa, it would be better if you buy cooked mawa. The sweet made from this will also taste better and the chances of it spoiling quickly are less

You can have food poisoning, vomiting, stomach ache due to eating sweets made from fake mawa. Mock mawa also disrupts your digestive system, which may cause other stomach related diseases.
