A fax machine is a device used to electronically send documents over a telephone network. It sends and receives printed documents by digitalizing the content with an optical scanner, transmitting information via electronic signals.
The transmission can be between two fax machines or between a fax machine and a computer.

How can a fax machine stop working?
There is a lot that can go wrong with this invention of the 1840s.
Using a crumpled paper? In a low humidity area? After buying it 3 years before? Step 1: Take note of the situation

If you notice a sense of overheating, SHUT the machine, its machinery. If there is a bigger threat to the office, call an expert, run to your home and take all your time to decide for the next step. The fax’s memory may be sharper and keep care of the pages which didn’t print.

Step 2: Fax is jammed? Open it from there.
So in case, it turns out that the expert is taking too long to reply and the situation’s temperature is actually well suited for your experience; with caution try to open the area from where it is jammed, access the crumbled paper and dump it.
Step 3: Insert a new paper
Next, use the exact same path to pull the paper out that was used to put it in, try any means if necessary but this is important. While doing so, you may break a part or two of the machine, but there is no other way of saving it or making it live a year or two longer.

Step 4: Close the Fax Machine, run a test
Once you remove all the papers, try faxing a paper. Meanwhile, you may even get the paper you were dreading for, fortunately, or unfortunately, unharmed. Use another panel this time.
If it works, all is great, if it does not, try calling the expert again for instructions; or simply give up and accept the new machine that someone might be gifting.
