Years from now India’s 2018 Australian summer cricket tour would be remembered for healthy banter, flashes of camaraderie and behind the mic action that the commentators blessed us with.
In a latest of such exchanges, Sunil Gavaskar, the first batsman to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket, shared something which has brought smiles to every Indian cricket lover.
Sunny shared that the boys who won the 1983 World Cup for India have a WhatsApp Group.
Kabir Taneja, took note of the comment and shared it with other Twitterati. Vikrant Gupta, a Sports editor, informed the world that “Sunny Bhai” admins the group.

Earlier, in a media function, Gavaskar had first reveals this information with the world. The legendary opener also said that he prays that all the members of the then team remain healthy so that they all could celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the famous victory.

In the final of the 1983 World Cup, India scored 183. Thanks to Kris Srikkanth and Sandeep Patil for their contributions that India managed to gave themselves some chances to clinch victory. Andy Roberts took three wickets in that game.
Madan Lal rocked the opening line up of the Windies, with India, in the end, winning by a comfortable margin of 43 runs.
