Elon Musk Accuses WhatsApp of Misusing User Data: Elon Musk recently accused Meta-owned WhatsApp of exporting user data every night in a Twitter exchange.

Musk was responding to a claim that WhatsApp’s data exportation is used for targeted advertising, effectively making users the product.

“WhatsApp exports your user data every night,” Musk alleged bluntly, questioning the security of the app. Neither Meta nor WhatsApp have responded to Musk’s allegations.

‘WhatsApp is using our personal data! It sounds like something lizard boy would do,’ stated one user.

Furthermore, another user called for a secure X messenger that can compete with WhatsApp, asserting that X is the ONLY app you need.

Video game developer and computer programmer John Carmack sought clarification regarding the potential scanning or transmission of messages as a result of the discussion.

Carmack expressed a belief in the default security of message contents, even though he acknowledged the collection of usage patterns and routing metadata.

Earlier this month, Musk criticized Meta’s advertising practices, accusing the platform of being overly opportunistic in claiming credit for advertisers’ campaigns.

A rumor even circulated about a alleged “cage fight” between Musk and Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.

Sadly, such a showdown never took place, leaving their rivalry to the digital realm.
