Kazuo Ishiguro has been chosen as the winner of the Nobel Prize in the literature on Thursday by the Swedish Academy. Notably, the literature Nobel has always been a hard prize to predict. People were stunned when last year’s award was won by Bob Dylan, mainly famous as a singer and songwriter.
The betting service Ladbrokes picked the top three bettors’ choices as Canadian Margaret Atwood (with 7/2 odds) Kenya’s Ngugi Wa Thiong’o (at 4/1) and Japan’s Haruki Murakami (5/1).
According to the committee, Mr Ishiguro was most associated with the themes of memory, time, and self-delusion.
