Farhan Akhtar starrer sports drama Toofan will reportedly skip a theatrical release and will be directly premiered on Amazon Prime Video. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in lead roles.

A source close to the film revealed to Bollywood Hungama about the same. It revealed that Toofan was slated to release in September last year. However, the release of the movie was stalled due to the pandemic situation.
The source added that it is indeed a surprise that filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has opted to release the film on an OTT platform rather than in the theatres. The source said that it is confirmed that the film will be released directly on Amazon Prime Video.
Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Toofan stars Farhan Akhtar as a national level boxer. The film had started shooting in Dongri on August 26, 2019 and was wrapped up in March 2020.
Toofan was all set to release on September 18, 2020, however due to the coronavirus pandemic the release date got postponed.
