FASTag Annual Pass: From August 15, 2025, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways will launch a brand-new FASTag annual pass meant for people who often use highways. This new plan is made specially for private cars, jeeps, and vans and will cost Rs 3,000 for one year or 200 trips whichever happens first. The best part is, this pass means people don’t have to pay every time at toll booths on national highways or expressways. They can just buy it once and keep driving without extra charges.

Where can you get it?
You can get this new pass by going to the Rajmargyatra mobile app or visiting the NHAI website. After checking if your vehicle is eligible and the FASTag is linked correctly, you just have to pay Rs 3,000 to activate it. Once you pay, your FASTag pass will usually become active within two hours.
But this pass only works at toll booths on National Highways and Expressways. If you use it on state highways or at other local toll booths, then normal FASTag charges will still apply. This pass is being introduced to make toll payments easier and cheaper for people who travel long distances often.
How Long it Works?
Once your annual FASTag pass is active, it stays valid for one year or until you use it for 200 trips whichever comes first. For example, if you use the highways a lot and you reach 200 trips before the year ends, the pass will stop working and your FASTag will go back to normal.

After that, if you still want the same benefits, you will need to activate the pass again by paying Rs 3,000 once more. The pass only works for private, non-commercial vehicles like cars and jeeps. If a commercial vehicle uses this pass, it will get deactivated immediately without warning.
Trips are counted very simply. If you go through a toll point, that is one trip. If you go and come back, that’s two trips. And if you are using it on a closed toll system where you enter and exit, it will be counted as one trip. So it’s important for users to know how their trips are being counted, so they don’t lose track of the 200-trip limit.
