A 16-year-old girl was brutally gang-raped by five youth at Bihar’s Darbhanga village. The father of the minor is a migrant worker and is stranded in Ahmedabad due to the lockdown.
The gangrape took place on April 25 and it came into light when the nude photos of minor was circulated on the web by the youth who gangraped her.
The pictures were clicked by the accused and it surfaced on social media but it came into notice when one of the attackers shared it with some of the girl’s acquaintances.
The police was informed about the incident by the local Cyber Senani group and thus arrested four of the five accused late on Friday night. Darbhanga Sadar DSP Anoj Kumar said that Police carried out raids late on Friday night and arrested Murari Das, Ashok Das, Indrajeet Das and Rohit Mandal from a village under Jale police station. However they informed that their accomplice Sagar Sahni managed to escape.
The FIR was lodged by minor’s mother and she told that her daughter was accosted by two of the youths around 10 PM while she was returning home and the youth grabbed her and took to a nearby mango orchard where the youth called other three boys and gang raped her.
The girl’s mother further added to it that her daughter’s plea to spare her was refused and they only allowed her to go home if she kept quiet about it.
Police said the girl was threatened into silence by her attackers. She kept it under wraps fearing retaliation as they live alone while her father is away in Gujarat.
Though the SHO recommended the transfer of the case to the women’s police station, his request was turned down in the larger interest of the victim.
