As festive season of October is nearing e-commerce big wigs like Amazon India, Flipkart and Snapdeal are gearing up for their flagship annual sale.  Amazon India has announced that it would run its sale season from October 1 to 5 while Flipkart and Snapdeal will have launch their sales from October 2 to 6.

Shopclues will also hold its sale from October 1-10, while Alibaba-backed Paytm is yet to announce dates for its festive sales.

For last couple of years Flipkart has made its mark by starting Big Billion Day offer and the first week of October is now seen as high spending period. These e-ecommerce giants will try to garner a significant portion of their annual sale value during this time.

Rivalry between these companies is largely benefiting customers as these companies pull down prizes in festive season giving huge discounts to attract new customers.

Reports say that online retailers in 2015 estimated to have sold goods worth nearly Rs 9,000 crore in October. It was said that last year Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon India clocked up combined sales of between $500- $600 million during the festive day sales. Flipkart alone is estimated to have sold goods worth $300 million during its the Big Billion Days.
