New Delhi: The senior Jharkhand Congress leader and MLA from Bermo Rajendra Prasad Singh passed away today in Delhi. According to the doctors, Singh has a lung infection and his condition was critical. His health condition was deteriorated and he was taken to Delhi by air ambulance 2 weeks back.

Congress MP Manickam Tagore broke the news in a tweet and said ” Great loss for @INCJharkhand sh.Rajendra Singh, the 5-term MLA senior leader from Jharkhand passed away today my deep condolences to families and friends ???

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expressed his deepest condolences to the family of Rajendra Singh:

Saddened to hear the news of the death of senior Congress leader and former Minister of Jharkhand Rajendra Singh. My condolences to his family and loved ones in this hour of grief. Big loss to @INCJharkhand

The Doctors referred him to Delhi by air ambulance for better treatment 20 days back. He was on ventilator at the hospital in Ranchi.

It is reported that Singh had brain stroke three years ago at the National Convention of INTUC in Delhi. He returned to Bermo after recovering from the brain stroke.

Rajendra Singh has been elected six time MLA from Bermo constituency in Jharkhand. In addition to the two-time minister in Bihar, he was the Minister of Energy, Health, Finance and Parliamentary Affairs in Hemant Soren’s Government in 2014.
