GATE 2022 admit card would not be releasing today: Report

Once released, GATE 2022 Admit Card will be available on the official site -gate.iitkgp.ac.in.

GATE 2022 Admit Card, earlier scheduled to release on January 7, has now been put on hold, according to reports.

The Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Kharagpur, the exam conducting authority, was earlier scheduled to release the GATE 2022 Admit Card on January 3.

Once released, GATE 2022 Admit Card will be available on the official site gate.iitkgp.ac.in.

“Admit Card download dates would be announced soon,” pointed out the official notification on the official website.

GATE 2022 Admit Card: Important points at a glance

Examination Mode:      Computer Based Test (CBT)

Duration:    3 Hours

Number of Subjects (Papers):          29

Sections:    General Aptitude (GA) + Candidate’s Selected Subject(s)

Type of Questions:       (a) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) (b) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and/or Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions

Questions for testing these abilities          Recall, Comprehension, Application, Analysis & Synthesis

Number of Questions:   10 (GA) + 55 (subject) = 65 Questions

Distribution of Marks in all Papers EXCEPT papers AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH, XH and XL:   General Aptitude: 15 Marks + Engineering Mathematics: 13 Marks + Subject Questions: 72 Marks = Total: 100 Marks

Marking Scheme:          Questions carry 1 mark and 2 marks

Negative Marking:        For a wrong answer chosen in a MCQ, there will be negative marking.

For 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.

For 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.

NO negative marking for MSQ & NAT.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science for admission into the Masters Program and Recruitment by some Public Sector Companies. GATE 2022 is conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and six other Indian Institutes of Technology at Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Chennai, Roorkee & Indian Institute of Science at Bengaluru on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
