Government invites applications for interns to join coronavirus projects

IIMs and other institutions must share the names of students, and then they will be interviewed remotely and selected based on work experience and interview.

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has started the online application process for the post of interns from the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other institutes it recognised as a knowledge partner to handle coronavirus pandemic.

This will be an eight months duration internship. Candidates will work remotely, as per the latest notice released by the government.

IIMs and other institutions must share the names of students, and then they will be interviewed remotely and selected based on work experience and interview. The tasks will be assigned by 11 empowered groups recognized by the government. The collaboration will be done digitally through the SLACK mobile application.

After successfully completing the internship, the intern will receive a certificate from DoPT. Candidates can send their bio-data to [email protected] or [email protected]. However, the internship will be free and will not pay any allowance.

Earlier, several companies either postponed the recruitment process or even withdrew offers from IITs and IIMs students. The HRD Minister then asked the institutes to make plans and even hold special placement for these students.
