Rajasthan Minister of State for primary and secondary education, Govind Singh Dotasra on Tuesday, has replaced Rajasthan Congress in-charge and Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot as the new Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Chief, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala announced.
“Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders have tried to speak to Sachin Pilot, others. High command spoke to Pilot 6 times, CWC members spoke to him dozens of times, Venugopal spoke several times. Through media and on behalf of Rajasthan’s people, we told Pilot, others that doors are open”, Surjewala.
“I regret Pilot and his colleagues got trapped by BJP to topple the Congress government. This is unacceptable. Party has taken some decisions,” he further added.
Along with Sachin Pilot, Vishvendra Singh and Ramesh Meena have been removed from the minister in the Rajasthan cabinet. Ganesh Ghogra has been made Rajasthan Youth Congress president while Hem Singh Shekhawat has been appointed as Seva Dal minister.
Earlier today, Rajasthan Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting was held at Fairmont Hotel in Jaipur. Sachin Pilot has skipped the second meeting today even after the party extended an invitation to him last night. 102 MLAs present at the CLP meeting at Fairmont Hotel in Jaipur have unanimously demanded that Sachin Pilot should be removed from the party, according to ANI.
Pilot had openly revolted against Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot after the special operations group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police, probing the alleged case of bribing of MLAs to topple the Congress government in the state, sent a notice to him for appearing before it.
