Touted as the biggest tax reform since independence, the Goods and Service Tax (GST) will be launched by the government in a grand function in Parliament’s Central Hall. The gathering will begin at 10:45 pm. It will continue for around 80 minutes on June 30.
Since it is going to be a grand event, a host of dignitaries has been invited for the function including Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, and industrialist Ratan Tata.
Apart from them, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice-President Hamid Ansari, former Prime Ministers, Manmohan Singh and HD Dewe Gowda, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will be present on the dais.
On agendas are the speeches delivered by PM Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee. A 10-minute documentary will also be presented. All the MPs of both Houses are also requested to be a part of the mega event along with all CMs and FMs.
As per Economic Times, BJP chief Amit Shah, RBI governor Urjit Patel, former finance minister Yashwant Sinha, former RBI governors C Rangarajan, Bimal Jalan, YV Reddy, and D Subbarao are invited to the event. Industry body chiefs of CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, CJIs of Supreme Court and all the high courts are also called for the grand bash.
