The trailer of ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ starring Jhanvi Kapoor has been released today. The film is based on Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena, the aspiring aviator who rose to become India’s first female combat pilot in the Kargil War.
‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ features Janhvi Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ayesha Raza, and Manav Vij in pivotal parts. It will premiere on Netflix on August 12, 2020.
The trailer begins with Gunjan(Jhanvi) who dreams of being a pilot. Her father, played by Pankaj Tripathi, is supportive of his daughter’s ambitions. In the film, Gunjan faces discrimination at her job because of her gender in the Air Force. We get to see how male officers don’t accept her as an officer and consider her weak. She is often told she is weak and “there is no place for weak people in the defense services”. However, Janhvi live her dream of being a pilot at the most crucial time of the Kargil War between India and Pakistan in 1999.
Akshay Kumar was among the first few actors to share the trailer of the movie. “Harr sapne ki udaan aise hi ho!
