In a highly bizarre incident, an 18-year-old boy was shot dead by a man after the two got to know that they were in love with the same woman.

The victim, identified as Ajay Kumar was a student of Class 12 at a government school and had been living with his maternal uncle since his childhood in Wazirpur village located along Pataudi road. Ajay was a school dropout, and was reportedly in love the Class XI girl, who is a student in the government school in Wazirpur.

As per the reports, around 2:30 PM on Wednesday, a few minutes before he was allegedly killed, the victim had received a phone call from the girl he was in love with, asking him to meet her behind the school in the village. Ajay in a few minutes reached the spot on a grey Scooty where the accused Archit and the girl were waiting for him.

At the spot, an altercation ensued between the victim and the accused man. Probe suggests that the accused person held the victim from his neck and beat him up with a rod on his head.

After a brief altercation, Archit shot him in his forehead and fled the spot. The girl also left the spot and went home. A few minutes after the incident, a passerby found Ajay’s body lying in a pool of blood and informed the police control room. A black cap was also found at the spot,” a senior police officer said.

The victim sustained fatal injuries on his head and was rushed to the civil hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Suspecting a love triangle revenge plot, police took the girl into custody and are looking for the accused. An FIR was registered against Archit and the girl under sections 302 (murder), 34 (common intention) of IPC sections, 25-54-59 of Arms Act and Section 3 of SC/ST Act.
