Happy Birthday Jeetendra: Blockbuster films by the 'Himmatwala' actor

Veteran actor Jeetendra will celebrate his 79th birthday on April 6. Born as Ravi Kapoor in Amritsar, Punjab, his active acting career spanned the 1960s to the 1990s. Jeetendra made his debut in Bollywood with Geet Gaya Pattharon Ne in 1964.

However, it was ‘Farz’ which made him an overnight sensation.

His star-studded career in Bollywood spanned for almost three decades from 1960s to 1990s during which he was paired with the best actors Sridevi, Jaya Prada and Jaya Bachchan. At the same time, he even starred in films like Kinara, Parichay, Khushboo and won critical acclaim.

Movies like ‘Parichay’, ‘Himmatwala’ and ‘The Burning Train’ are still remembered by young and old as some of the best movies of Bollywood.

On the occasion of Jeetendra’s 79th birthday, here are some blockbuster films by the veteran actor:

Aadmi Khilona Hai:

The drama film produced by Padma Rant on FILMYUG and helmed by J Om Prakash. The film also starred Govinda in the lead role.

Dharam Veer:

Dharam Veer was one of the most known movies of the year 1977. The likes of actors like Dharmendra, Zeenat Aman, Hema Malini made it easy for the makers to grab attention. Jeetendra’s looks are still admired from the film, young and dashing personality!

The Burning Train:

In the era of the 1980s, we never imagined, to be honest, to witness a crime thriller action film to be filmed and be a blockbuster. Right from Hema Malini and Dharmendra and from Danny Denzongpa to Navin Nischol, we saw every popular face of the industry back then in this film. This film was all about fire, romance, and fight. Jeetendra’s one of the best films for a reason!

Asha:

The film was the perfect mixture of evergreen songs, characterization, and a beautiful cast. We can’t imagine Aasha without Reena Roy but also, the film can’t be complete without Jeetendra’s signature style of dance.
