Happy birthday Nagma: Nagma Arvind Morarji, born on 25 December 1974, is an Indian film actress and politician. She was a popular lead actress in the 1990s. This gorgeous actress will be celebrating her 47th birthday this year.
- She was born to a Hindu father and a Muslim mother in 1974, as Nandita Arvind Morarji in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
- Her father belonged to the royal family of Jaisalmer who later shifted base to Gujarat and then to Mumbai.
- After her parents divorced, her mother married Chander Sadhana who is a movie producer. She remained close to her biological father until his death on 31st December 2005.
- She made her cinematic debut in the film Baaghi opposite Salman Khan in 1990. It was Hindi cinema’s seventh highest-grossing film of the year.
A popular Bollywood actress and now a Politician, Nagma made her debut opposite Salman Khan in Baghi – A Rebel For Love and the movie became the 7th highest grossing film of 1990. From there on, she started getting many good offers and she also went on to do some big banner films such as Yalgaar, King Uncle, Bewaffa Se Waffa, Police Aur Mujrim etc.
After doing a handful of Bollywood movies, she tried her luck down south, on her good friend, Divya Bharti’s insistence. She subsequently became the No. 1 Heroine in Tamil and Telegu cinema. After doing many films down south, she shifted her base back to Mumbai and started doing Bhojpuri films. She received much appreciation from Bhojpuri cinema as well, for her work and glamorous avatar.
During all these years, she was always in news, not only for her films but also for her personal life. Her father was a popular businessman who was better known as a textile magnate. Though both mother and father parted ways after a few years and went on to remarry, Nagma was close to both, she was even there by her father’s side in Pune during his last days. After 16 years of her film career, she revealed it to the media that she was the daughter of such a big business tycoon, after her father’s demise in 2006.
Though Nagma, 47 is single and unmarried, there were many men in her life who left her heartbroken. Once upon a time, Nagma was involved in a lot of controversies.
As per reports, Nagma was accused of having alleged links with the underworld. But, the actress denied all such allegations.
“I don’t have any relationship with anyone as reported in the media. It could be a case of mistaken identity,” Nagma had clarified in one of her earlier interviews.
These men included – Sourav Ganguli, famous Indian cricketer, Sharath Kumar, a famous South Indian Actor, a bhojpuri superstar – Ravi Kishan and then Manoj Tiwari, again a famous bhojpuri actor.
