Bollywood’s noted music maestro Shankar Mahadevan turns 54 on March 2, 2020. In a career spanning 18 years, Shankar effortlessly has lent his voice to Tamil Telugu, Hindi English, Urdu, Kannada, Punjabi songs.
Having received formal training in Hindustani classical and Carnatic music during his childhood years, Shankar reportedly, began playing the veena when he was merely five.
Mahadevan was awarded the first National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 2000 for ‘Yenna Solla Pogirai’ (Kandukondain Kandukondain). In 2007, he won it for ‘Maa’ (Taare Zameen Par) and in 2012, he won it for ‘Bolo Na’ (Chittagong). He also has won National Film Award for Best Music Direction for ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’.

The song was sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Ravi Khote. According to reports, Dharma Productions had obtained the right to use the words ‘pretty woman’ from the classic track ‘Pretty Woman’ by Roy Orbison.
